Neo Weirton began operations in 1983. Initial facility design was aimed at providing work roll plating to the local steel and aluminum industries and to this day, this service remains the core business at Neo Weirton.
Additional chrome plating capabilities were increased in 1985 and 1987 with the addition of two mechanical plating lines that satisfy a broad spectrum of chrome plating requirements.
In 1986, Neo installed a cylindrical roll grinder that allowed for total in house process roll reconditioning. The following year, we continued to diversify as Neo Weirton installed a state of the art Nickel plating facility. The proprietary nickel plating process is devoted solely to the reconditioning of continuous caster molds.
Additional services offered Neo include copper plating, submerged arc roll cladding, bearing removal, replacement and reconditioning and roll assembly.
The facility maintains ISO 9001:2000 certification through the NSF-ISR.
